Who You Play and Who You Are Searching For
Jordan is the playable college student, Stella Banks guides them remotely, and Dalton Coolidge and Dalton Jr. (DJ) are the missing father and son at the heart of the search. The Paleo Pals are the attraction's mascots, while letters and recordings introduce the people behind its history.
Later story details follow, including material from the characters' personal letters and conversations.
Main Characters and Their Relationships
| Character | Story Role | How You Learn About Them |
|---|---|---|
| Jordan | A college student and student-athlete whose car breaks down outside Dalton's Dinos during a road trip from Chicago toward Los Angeles. | Their dialogue and reactions carry the journey. Their athletic background explains the running, jumping and climbing. |
| Stella Banks | An off-site park employee and paleontologist, and a longtime friend and colleague of Dalton and Elena. | Telephone and headset conversations provide context about the attraction and guide Jordan's search for Dalton and his son. |
| Dalton Coolidge | The missing attraction owner, Elena's husband and DJ's father. A fossil discovery helped him and Elena establish Dalton's Dinos. | His recordings, discoveries and the trail he leaves allow Jordan to retrace his path. |
| Dalton Jr. (DJ) | Dalton's son and the child Jordan encounters in the underground caverns. | His journals include Sick Dennis, Mama's Gone and DJ's thoughts, giving him a personal voice beyond the search. |
| Elena Coolidge | Dalton's wife and a paleontologist. Their fossil discovery brought the fame and funding that helped create the attraction. | Letters between Elena and Dalton reveal the family relationships behind the attraction. |
How Dalton's History Shapes the Search
The fossil discovery helped Dalton and Elena build an attraction that could finance further digs and research. Dalton's desire to share dinosaurs with families sits alongside his business ambition. That tension matters as Jordan moves beyond the colorful exhibits into excavation sites, mining operations and hidden facilities below.
Dalton's goodbye letter addresses his wife, his son and Stella. He admits that he shut Elena out and failed to support DJ, while remembering Stella's advice to keep the attraction focused on science and education. Those regrets make the search a family story as well as a journey through the attraction's secrets.

Paleo Pal statues speak facts when you interact with their buttons, and you can encounter repeated copies around the attraction. Dennis also has a personal connection with DJ: Sick Dennis describes him becoming ill and leaving black tar when he visits. Later, DJ tells Jordan that Dennis dislikes anyone else, bringing that familiar mascot name into the rescue story.
